CartLean plans high-protein meals and a shopping list for you. We collect only what we need to do that, and we do not sell your data.
What we collect
- Your quiz answers and settings: goal, protein target, diet, foods you avoid, store, budget, household size, cooking time, pantry items and any prices you edit.
- Your plans: the meals and shopping lists we build for you, and which items you tick off.
- Account details: your email address and a securely hashed password (never the password itself).
- Basic usage data: pages viewed and steps completed, an anonymous visitor cookie, your approximate country (from our hosting provider), and how you found us (for example a campaign link).
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep your subscription status and billing country.
How we use it
- To build your plans and shopping lists. Your plan preferences (not your email or name) are sent to an AI model provider to draft meals; nutrition and prices are calculated on our own servers.
- To run your account and subscription, and send emails you expect: sign-in links, receipts, trial reminders and, if you keep it on, a weekly "your new plan is ready" email.
- To understand which pages work so we can improve CartLean.
Service providers
We use Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (hosting and email), MongoDB (database), Cloudflare (DNS), OpenRouter (access to AI models) and Rybbit (cookieless page analytics). They process data only to provide their service to us.
Cookies
We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in and an anonymous visitor cookie to save your quiz progress. We do not use advertising cookies on this site.
Your choices
- Turn weekly plan emails off in Settings or with the link in any weekly email.
- Cancel your subscription anytime: message us from the chat button in the app, or use "Manage subscription" (the Cancel option appears there 24 hours before your first charge).
- Ask us to export or delete your data by emailing hello@cartlean.com from your account email. We reply within 30 days.
Retention
We keep your account data while your account exists. Usage events are deleted after about 13 months. Billing records are kept as long as the law requires.
Health information
If you tell us you use GLP-1 medication, we use that only to plan smaller, protein-dense meals. CartLean is not a medical service.
